A. DOFE RESIDENT ARTISTS
The A. Dofe Artist-In-Residency offers residencies at a variety
of locations in Butte, Montana. This residency program began
in 2002 when the Butte Silver Bow Arts Foundation (BSBAF)
renovated the Montana Leather Company building creating the
Venus Rising Espresso House and the Butte Silver Bow Artist-In-Residency
Program with living quarters and studio for one resident artist.
Dave Kirk and his family foundation provided the funding necessary to make
this project happen.
The program provides opportunities for local, regional and national artists
to live and work in an artistic environment and exhibit their
artwork at the Venus Gallery, the Clark Chateau Museum, and the
Museum of Fine Arts-Butte Galleries. Each Resident Artist contributes
their unique art experiences with the local Uptown Butte community
while promoting Butte Silver Bow Arts Foundation events. Art Residencies
are scheduled throughout the year. Artists may apply for residencies monthly
during the summer and a nine month-period during the winter.
As this program continues to grow, a wide range of residencies
will become available.
