Nadia Guthmann � Artist in Residence



Nadia is an artist and scientist from Argentina. She is the guest of Rick and Kris Douglass from Montana Tech who spearheaded this project. Nadia is in Butte through the Partners of Americas, an exchange program with Montana and the Patagonia area of Argentina.

1:00 pmPrepare for Slide Lecture
2:00 pmDepart for Basin Artists Refuge
4:30 pmReturn to Butte
5:30 pmDinner at the Uptown Caf� with selected artists and guests
7:00 pmCommunity meet and greet at the Venus Rising with Nadia Guthmann. Nadia will also present a slide lecture of her work with a period for questions and discussion following.
Thursday�July 10
9 amMeet at the Venus Rising and depart for Wise River in the Pioneer Mountains. A day on the river with Nadia, glenn, local artists and scientists.�The group will work on a collaborative site specific sculpture, and discuss merging the arts and sciences in the 21st century. We will also have time for individual musing and hiking. Bring your coolers of food and drink for the day.
5 pmReturn to Butte with a possible stop for dinner at the Blue Moon Caf�.
FridayJuly 11
10amMeet and greet at the Museum of Fine Arts Butte with BSBAF staff, visiting Seattle artists and regional artists attending the art walk.
11am–5pmFree-time to enjoy the Uptown Historic District and National Folk Festival Sites
5 – 9pmArt Walk in Uptown Butte
SaturdayJuly 12
9 amMeet at BSBAF�s Family Area Site to prepare for the National Folk Festival activities
12pm – 5pmWork on the contemporary willow sculpture with local artist and festival guests at the Family Area Site.
5 pmOpen time to enjoy music, art, and activities slated for the National Folk Festival.
10pm – 2am“Mo-Local music at the MoFAB” an evening of fine wines, local musicians, a live auction. $5.00 cover charge
